K. Khursheed was born as a Hindu Krishna Kumar. He was invited to Pakistan and helped Syed Atta Ullah Shah Bukhari as director in films like Noukar (1955), Chhoti Begum (1956), Daata (1957) etc. He converted to Islam and got name as Khalid Khursheed. His first film as independent film director was Shola aur Shabnam (1967).
