The Hidden Himalayas 1960

Directed by Suketaro Shimada

A feature-length documentary film that captures the unusual customs of North-West Nepal — a virgin territory never before visited by foreigners — and is particularly valuable for its depiction of the primitive funeral rite known as sky burial, confirmation of the primitive religion Bon, and the polyandrous marriage system.
