I was not able to finish this movie in one sitting, it just did not grab me at all. I really enjoyed the previous film in the franchise, if I recall correctly, but this one just did not have much going for it. As soon as credits rolled, I knew why. This film was not directed by franchise creator Danny Boyle, but instead by the same black woman DEI hire who directed Disney’s 2023 flop The Marvels. Why would Danny Boyle give this woman one of his films? Why did he not learn from 28 Weeks Later that he needs to be the one in the director’s chair for this franchise to work? I truly do not understand. Bummer.
