The Reclamation of My Black Ass Imagination: An Awakening 2023

Directed by Reena Dutt

A lone dancer’s movement merges with poetry in “The Reclamation of My Black Ass Imagination: An Awakening” to boldly assert Black self-actualization in the face of systemic racism and violence. The film explores the constant peril experienced by Black queer bodies and its impacts on quality of life and worldview. As an essential tool for survival, the Black imagination empowers dreams of belonging in a world founded on reparation, radical acceptance, and collective liberation.
